This Cricket Exhibition in Australia is the Best in the World

The Bradman Museum, now renamed the Bradman Museum and International Cricket Hall of Fame, is a cricket exhibition that all cricket fans really need to visit if they are ever in Australia. This fantastic museum is located next to the Bradman Oval in Bowral, which is a 90-minute drive from Sydney. The great Don Bradman used to live in this town and played cricket at the ground in the 1920s.

The Importance of This Museum

Donald Bradman was one of the greatest cricketers that the cricketing world has ever seen. If he scored more than four runs in his final match, he would have had an average of 100.00, but he was bowled for a duck (the first of his career) and ended with an average of 99.94. Nobody has even come close to matching him yet, and we don’t expect anyone to beat him soon. Bradman contributed a lot to the game of cricket, so it was fitting that he had a museum made in his honour.

However, cricket is more than one man, no matter how great that man was, so they added the International Cricket Hall of Fame there back in 2010. The curators know that cricket has the potential to bring different nations and cultures together, so this is what this museum now tries to achieve.

Cricket is brought to life in this building thanks to interactive touchscreens, a range of displays that exhibit original and used match equipment, and five big video screens that tell the story of cricket. Bradman’s main attributes that he brought to the game of cricket were honour, courage, humility, integrity, and determination, all of which this museum reflects.

Different Sections of the Museum

If you happen to be new to the game of cricket, then the first part of this museum will help you to get acquainted with the basics of this sport. There is an interactive fielding table, where you can play against your friends. You can also make use of some large touchscreens to try out some different strokes and bowling actions.

After this, there is the Bradman Gallery where you can see his first bat, his first baggy green hat, and some letters that he wrote. You can also see if you can hit a ball against a water tank using a stump, which is what Bradman did to practice.

With the good, comes the bad, and after this there is a section dedicated to match fixing scandals that have hit cricket throughout its history. Think of a huge cricket scandal and you will be able to find out about it in this section. Match fixing will always be present in cricket due to the fact that people just love betting on it. This will mean that there will always be illegal bookmakers who try to convince cricketers to help them win lots of money.

However, we are not saying that there is something wrong about betting on cricket. Most people who bet on cricket do so legally and do it just to add a bit more excitement to the game that they are watching.
